Wayne Cohen is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Matador Solutions. He is also the founder of Cohen & Cohen, one of Washington D.C.’s leading plaintiff’s law firms. Over the last three decades, the firm has handled thousands of injury claims, including car accidents, product defects, construction accidents, medical negligence, civil rights violations, and more. The firm has over 350 5-star Google reviews and has an impressive track record of settlements and verdicts totaling in the hundreds of millions.
However, even before Wayne was an attorney, he was a coder who caught the early wave of personal computing in the 1970s. In the 1980s, and began building his own computers. In the 1990s, Wayne became fascinated with the rise of searches, website development, and online marketing. Fast forward to the 2000s – the public began to find lawyers on the internet, and Cohen & Cohen began to see more and more new matters coming from the internet.
At that time, there was perhaps even more confusion about the digital marketing landscape than there is today. What is this thing called the internet? Will it really help me get new clients? What will happen to traditional forms of advertising? Wayne would frequently be contacted by friends, extended family members, and colleagues asking the same basic question: “Hey, can you help me figure this out?” In the early days, Wayne would help out, simply because of his interest. But soon, that became too unwieldy of a task, and the Co-Op was born. Wayne spends half his day focused on growing his law firm, and the other half working with Members to grow theirs.
Wayne has also taught at The George Washington University Law School since 1993 and is a past President of the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington D.C.
